lucy violet vintage: House Proud?
Maybe I am a little bit early, but next week I will have a little vacation with my son (sleeping in an old house at a lake with his friends and the other mothers, with campfire, take a canoe trip and haunting mosquitos), so I haven´t got the time to participate. Better earlier, than never... Hmm, don´t ask me, why the fathers doesn´t take that trip with their sons!
My wonderful blogfriend Kylie from Perth, Australia created a beautiful idea at her blog. All the ladies and guys who like to participate are welcome. We choose a corner in our house who we are very proud of, styled with vintage stuff or in a special vintage mood and link the images to her blog.
I decided to show my office place. I´ve mixed an old table from the fleamarket, buying for my first flat in 1989, painted in black, combined with two old draw-container in black metal from my parents and one of my beloved white Eames chairs. The chair is decorated with a cheap skin in grey from IKEA. The table is very functional but I added a big white head of budda, a vase from the fleamarket and a hairrubber in form of a flower to "smooth" the big black desk.
On top of the draw-container I styled a couple of an old vintage letter rack in black marmor, a stone I use to open letters and three old wooden letters use to print my first name in books etc.. The electric shaver is an original Remington from my father, he used in the early 50ies.
Hope you enjoy my little collage and the detail shoots.
If you like to bee a part of "the corner of my home", you have the chance until May, the 11th!
Love, Ria

Hi Ria, I am so happy you've joined our linky (and that we've stayed in touch after "meeting' at Justina's course). Your desk is lovely, I think it's really special that you bought it for your first flat and you've still got it (and use it) today. I love the flea market vase (you must laugh at us and our obsession for West German pottery!), your Dad's old shaver, the old wooden letters, EVERYTHING!

I'm impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a
blog that's both educative and amusing, and let me tell
you, you've hit the nail on the head. The issue is something which not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
Now i'm very happy I came across this in my hunt for something relating to
this.
